How to paint your house yourself?

Easy ways to remove traces of paint.

The painting process begins by removing a group of furniture pieces that can be moved and carried easily, but for large pieces such as a cupboard, you must place them in the middle of the room, and it is preferable, before removing them, to empty them of their contents so that they can be easily removed without scratching the floor or affecting the furniture.

Steps to prepare the room:

1- Remove the covers of the electrical outlets, and then cover the switches using a sheet of wide paper.

2- Place the nylon covers on the floor and stick them with thin paper tape.

3- After completing this, place a wide sheet of paper on the edge of the tiles at the bottom of the panel walls and cover them completely.

4- Cover the edges of the doors and windows with wide paper, in addition to covering the doors with newspaper.

5- Cover the chandelier, the door handle, and any piece or protrusion exposed to paint.

Painting start process:

1- If there are any cracks or bulges in the wall, take an amount of putty and mix it with a small amount of gypsum or white cement, then cover the area that has cracks or bulges, using a knife, by placing the putty on the knife and pressing on the place. What is required is to form a thin layer of putty on the wall.

2- After the putty dries (it takes 60-90 minutes), scratch it with sandpaper, without putting pressure on the place, so that the putty is at the same level as the old paint.

3- Empty part of the paint into the bucket, and dilute it with water (the dilution rate is 10-15% of the amount in the bucket), and make sure that the dilution is with clean, drinkable water.

4- Bring a brush roll and wash it well with water before use to remove any excess cotton from it. Then put it in the paint bucket and load the paint material onto it, then distribute the paint on the ceiling by running the brush roll over the ceiling.

Back and forth.

5- After you finish distributing the paint with the roller, use a brush to paint the edges of the ceiling

Important tips:

• When the paint is finished, remove the paper top immediately, and do not wait for the paint to dry completely.
• Make sure to keep the room well ventilated, and it is okay to use a fan while painting.
• A broomstick can be used to reach the ceiling or the top of the walls.
• If you want to get rid of the holes prepared for pictures, you can remove the hanger and then apply putty mixed with gypsum and then line it with sandpaper. If you want to use it again, all you have to do is put pieces of tape on it.
