Differences between inverter and conventional air conditioners

When you are looking for split air conditioning , you may have come across an inverter model. Despite having similar aesthetic features and being equally powerful, the difference between a traditional and an inverter air conditioner lies in the internal part of the device, i.e. in the technology of the product.

Inverter technology has been developed to reduce energy consumption . There is an innovation in the system: while the conventional device compressor turns on and off during operation, the inverter air compressor does not turn off completely. This prevents power surges and thus reduces your electricity bill. The latest models can save up to 75%!

In addition to being cheaper, an inverter air conditioner allows you to quickly reach the desired temperature. It also has higher durability than traditional appliances, because it has less wear and tear on its parts.

Understand their differences in this article:

Conventional air conditioning

On a traditional split air conditioner , the room temperature tends to fluctuate excessively while the air conditioner is running. This is caused by intermittent operation of the compressor. on/off” , which leads to increased power consumption.

Inverter air conditioning performance

In an inverter air conditioner , the ambient temperature tends to be more constant as the compressor operates in continuous and variable rotation. This translates into greater comfort, lower noise level and lower energy consumption , up to 75% savings compared to conventional appliances.

Conventional speed

On average, a traditional air conditioner needs a little more operation to reach the desired temperature, compared to an inverter.

Reverse speed

An inverter air conditioner generally reaches the desired temperature with less operating time than a conventional one. This is because the refrigerant (gas) circulates at a higher pressure in the device and results in better heat exchange.

Conventional compressor

The compressor operates with constant and intermittent rotation (on/off) . An observable feature of compressors using R22 gas in heating mode is the possibility of the gas freezing when exposed to very low temperatures. This causes the device to reverse the cooling cycle to melt the ice and continue heating the space later.

Inverter compressor

Inverter air conditioning compressors operate with variable and continuous rotation (non-stop) and they all use R32 gas. It is advisable to use this gas in places with very low temperatures, since its operation reduces the possibility of freezing.

Conventional maintenance

It does not contain as many electronic components as an inverter. Generally has low maintenance cost.

Reverse maintenance

It contains a larger number of electronic components and requires qualified professionals in this technology. For this reason, maintenance costs are usually higher than traditional ones.
